FUTURE

What is FUTURE?

The future is like a blank canvas, for all living beings, who sail their life. For Humans, the pages are yet to be crafted and the canvas is yet to be painted. This unpainted canvas is the most thrilling journey in human life. So, future is anticipated with thrilling surprises and that is intriguing.

The word future comes from the Latin root “futurus” (About to Be). It is about what is going to happen next.

Future is defined as :

  1. Progress or expectation, to next level or development.
  2. What is going to happen to somebody or something.
  3. Acknowledging in these forecasts, some adaptability or unpredictability.

Take Note: this site is not for D-day planners or eschatologists

We glimpse the future on the brighter side.  The ideas show the way, how consequences can be mitigated, for a better future. So, we need to,  “Think for future”, or “Think for Our Future”. When we say “FUTURE” We mean a time,  more like 200 years – Long future, But, which can also be tomorrow, as tomorrow is a minuscule of Long Future.

“Make sure to make every decision that we make relates to the welfare and well-being of the Seventh generation to come” … – Oren Lyons, Chief of the Onondaga Nation

Oren Lyons the Native American chief (of Onondaga Nation), emphasizes that policies, advancement, law, lifestyle, and inventions which shape our presence now, should be made in such a way, that it resonates for at least seven generations, to come. When we consider future planning, this may seem very ambitious, to look at the future not just in terms of the next day, next month, and next year but beyond generations. This is essential.

What are the chances Humans will survive for the next 500 years ?

“The odds are good for human survival. Even the big threats—nuclear warfare or an ecological catastrophe, perhaps following from climate change—aren’t existential in the sense that they would wipe us out entirely. And the current bugaboo, in which our electronic progeny (AI) will supersede us and decide they can rule without humans, can be avoided by just unplugging them.” – Carlton Caves, Professor from New Mexico

So considering these, let’s be optimistic and think about The Planet and our ( human’s) Future.

Thinking Future

Future Thinking is:

  • Creative. exploratory, divergent.  ( Milder terms  it can be called visioning. )
  • May give  many projections, diverse answers and umpteen  consequences. ( for the mitigation process to set in. )
  • Has its own dose of limitations, uncertainty  and ambiguity.

For Future, Two crucial elements are important; … 1. We the Humans 2. Surroundings … Human beings & Universe around us … which is 1. Human Culture 2. Nature .

So there is – FUTURE, CULTURE, NATURE – the 3 ‘ture

importance of – Tri ‘ture

Future

Are we focused on short -term ? (days & month)

Are we extending it to years and Decades ? (in future plans)

Are we contemplating Centuries ? And Yes, This is easiest.

You can Plan for tomorrow, And Yes You could prepare the ideology for the next 10 years. You will come across many unexpected issues in your planning.

However it is easier to plan for 100 years ahead. Why ? … Because humans struggle to grasp the rapidity and progress of direction. … But Not Nature.

The solution ? Leave it to NATURE… Just Stop, Relax, Be still, Be quiet, Observe surrounding, and let Nature paint the best plan for the centuries to come.
