AGRICULTURE future
There are two reasons I write this now,
- Agriculture is slowly waning in our country
- Nobody is willing to enter into agriculture
HISTORY of Agriculture
We all believe thru faith that God created humans and man invented agriculture.
But science says it in part differently. In the evolutionary process, Homo Eructus ( Upright man ) were the ancestors of first humans who lifted their hand from ground and used their limbs to stand. Homo Eructus, started using their hands, to make little tools, and they lived on fruits and available edibles when hungry. They used their hands like their legs. Even when you look closely at monkeys now, Their toes can curve to hold on branches unlike us humans. This is due to we Humans have evolved and came further away from using our legs to hold.
Homo Eructus started making larger weapons, There they started to mildly destroy nature, hunt animals. Modern Humans assume them to be not intelligent, Not so, as
- they were intelligent to invent fire from nothing with zero environmental help.
- They hinted animals which were much larger and powerful than them.
- They hunted and moved in groupes in unity, while in modernity we need HR managers to function as a team.
- Women folk amoung these groups had involved in hunting the larger animals.
- Science also has shown us they drew pictures, which could last for more than 5000 years. In Hence their natural paint systems were so advanced and long lasting than our modern chemical paints. They used their hands, rocks, plant extracts, for this process.
Then while they were hunting, Our forefathers developed their lifestyle. It was accomplished with just plain surroundings, without any help form modern tools. Are they intelligent ? These prove their intelligence.
- Taming wild animals, and getting friendly to them. First and foremost to join the domiciled category are the canines. Then slowly added horses, cattle, and others to help him in his labour.
- With careful planning and domiciling of other species, Science had permeated into Homo Sapiens. Science had started to evolve way back then. These animals were added to ease his life. ( What modern science is trying to do today with gadgets and tools )
- Then from nomadic hunters he evolved to thinker and producer “why should I move for food, Why do not I produce food?” There began Agriculture. So Agriculture can be allied to very old times, originally created by our fore fathers.
- This profession from old times had not changed its ideologue of usage of products to be used for many in family / clan / community. Produces which are mainly shared and for others, which is giving out to other humans, This makes me proud to be a farmer , agriculturist. Also, I am being part of one of the oldest professions in the world, still surviving
So let us move into our topic, of Future of Agriculture.
AGRICULTURE NOW:
We hear the sayings….
“Farming is a profession of hope.” – Brett Brian
“Agriculture is our wisest pursuit, because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals, and happiness.” – Thomas Jefferson
“It feels good at the end of the day to know you made a product that other people are going to enjoy.” – Jericho Sanchez
But, In India, Farmlands suffer, Farming suffers. And – the worst – FARMER SUFFERS. How long can a farmer suffer ? Is Agriculture going profitable in modern India ? How can then an Agriculturist survive. ?
- We see so many business, shops get opened and in a few days they shut down. Can an agriculturist shout down his farm or land just like that ?
- We also hear so many farmer deaths. Due to lack of natural resources, pressure from outside peers.
- Unlike Western countries like America, where one farmer may have 2 Sq-km ( Square Kilometer ) = 500 Acres of land, In India one farmer will have 500 Sq M ( Square Meters ) = 10 Cents of land.
- Because of area being small, farmers family will have to learn to survive within that small piece of land. His children might leave the farm and move into urban life…
- Adding to the peril, Because of the area being small, He might be unnoticed int the ocean of population. His representation will not be recognized.
- Help Remedies, Technology, modern Adaptations will not reach him.

Here is my plan which is easy, theoretical and, it will benefit most farmers in a articular area – say – 4 Sq-km = 1000 Acres.
FUTURE AGRICULTURE:
| C L | Cumulative Land |
| C C S | Cumulative Co-operative System |
| G T | Governing Team |
- First the supposed agricultural land pertaining to one or two panchayat, depending on its size. ( say 1000 acres or 4 Sq Km ) is selected and this can be Cumulative Land ( CL )
- Official land owner ship records of the whole CL area to be collected, and charted out.
- All these owners who own, 500 to 20,000 Sq M ( 10 cents – 5 Acre ) are joined together into a Cumulative Cooperative System. ( CCS ) under a legal Bond.
- These small owners become members of the CCS, which in turn give them appropriation of shares according to their land area, cultivable area, water area or any other non cultivable hurdles.
- Mr A who owns 5 cents (200 Sq M), is given as much shares and Mr B who owns 5acres or (20000 Sq M ) is given his equivalent shares.
- This large cumulative land may have 500 members,
- Small Land owners are given more importance in allocation of shares
- Then all the Barricade ridges which are physical are removed, and small divided lands are made into a single large land.
- Farming or Agriculture is not done by the all 500 members, But by the selected few who are the Governor Team ( GT ) for the CL.
- Selection of Governors is by nomination and not by election.
- Governors follow the state wide reservation protocol or any other protocol viable for their CL.
- A bye Law Book can be created in this regard.
- Governor team GT will be responsible for the selection of crops, managing the crops and land, and will be in that position till bienniel / trienniel circulation of crops are arranged.
- Domination is not entertained which is by a particular caste or creed or group.
- Importance is not in Governors, but on the preservation of CCS.
- A check and Balance to discourage continuous governorship of one individual, is achieved by Rotation and and compulsory retirement.
- Now the Governors will manage farming with updated modern high technology equipment like, Tractor, Farm equipment, Drone etc.
- Labor problem for the Cumulative Land is eased out. For small land pieces finding labor is difficult. But there is solution in science and modernity.
- For the full Cumulative Land, ( maybe 1000 acres ) 2 or 3 tractors will do the job of tilling,
- For weeding, and crop pesticide, Drones can be used and the concerned staff will be hired to do the job.Harvest machines are hired at the right time to do the job of procuring products.
- Products are packaged transported and sold at comfortable pricing
- If the members pay in little by little, ( a minimal amount ) as their share according to the area of their land, even they could buy farming equipment instead of renting or pooling with other cumulative Land owners. For example, person who owns 500 sq m, will pay in 5000 INR and person who owns 20000 sq m will pay in 2,00,000 INR respectively as overseen by the GT.
- Possibilities of Government pooling in subsidiaries, loans are also possible as Government is not catering individuals any more but to a Vote bank of 1500 people.
- Government and Organizations will give out subsidy and roll out loan packages easily, But an individual getting a loan asking banks for the same will be difficult
- At times of pest attacks or diseases seeking help and solving becomes very easy when it is done through Cumulative Cooperative Land. When asked, NGOs, Government bodies, Consultancies, Agri boards and officials will be forced and obliged, eager to help and give their expertise for the best for the CCL and to the concerned farmers.
- So after a season Harvest, Sales is over and Profit is generated. We can easily calculate the profit for One sq m. Accordingly land owners will be given according to their shares in CCS
- If one member feels, I do not want money, But the produce of my land, That much produce is given back to member, and he will forefeit the profit for that time produces.
ADVANTAGES of FUTURE Agriculture

- Buyer of the produces will be easily available and dealers will come directly to the seller, much not the scene when, one farmer takes his produce to the dealer, or agent, He will not have power to make his stand.
- If local agents are unwilling, online bidding can be done by the Governing team, for better deals. And better margins are achieved.
- Opening of dams , reservoirs will be done for land mass of 10 Sq Km or more easily under direct order of collector or chief minister unlike when local farmer of minimal land request for water release.
- Iif some owner who is a member wants to sell his piece of land, which is say 500 sq m, He will sell his respective shares to any high bidder. These shares can be bought by any local member or it can be traded to corporate or foreign buyer.
- ( These share system of selling one’s land is not approved by the present revenue system in India, But shares can still be bought by the buyer. )
- When Rotation of crops are done, in between period short time crops like Dal can be done, which will also done in mass cultivation.
- Since the borders are removed in Cumulative Land, area of the total productive land mass increases.
- Water management and irrigation becomes easy and timely irrigation can be done
- With Drones, large areas are covered
- Crop health survelance
- Crop Damage assessment
- Crop Spraying
- Less wastage of resources.
- maintenance is cheaper. materials are used less.
- Power consumption for the CL is far more less.
- Subsidiary business other than agriculture /farming, but based on raw materials of agriculture, develop like animal husbandry . Fodder is used by the cattle , and the dung form the manure for the crops. So Organic farm to developing is a possibility, Unlike now where Chemical fertilizers are used.
- Selling of the agricultural land by individual farmer is demoted, and agricultural land is maintained, and Agriculture is preserved. Agrarian is sustained.
- Profit margin is higher, Farmer is satisfied, Production increases. Benefit to consumers,, cost of food decreases.
CONCLUSION:
Think Tanks, Govt officials, Revenue Departments, Ministry of Agriculture, Agriculture Banks, Pioneering Panchayat leaders all should come about in unison for their own benefit and benefit of farmers.
